Instant Friedgram Powder / Paruppu Podi

Fried gram powder is known as Paruppu podi in Tamil. Its a flavourful and healthy powder recipe. When I feel lazy to cook or get confused of what to cook , this powder comes in handy.

It can be prepared in seconds and tastes delicious with steamed rice along with a dash of sesame oil / ghee. This powder can be stored in an airtight jar for 4 to 5 days. I always prepare this powder when needed, in small quantities for best flavour.

Ingredients:

Fried gram – 1/4 cup

Garlic cloves – 5 to 6 nos

Red chilli – 2 or 3 nos

Salt – to taste

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients together in a mixer grinder/ coffee grinder.
  2. Now the Friedgram powder is ready.
  3. Serve it with piping hot rice and sesame oil.
  4. You can adjust the spice level as per your wish.
