Peanut chutney

Roasted peanuts with coconuts and tamarind makes an awesome dip. This chutney goes well with idli / dosa.



Roasted peanuts – 50 grams

Coconut ( grated) – 1/2 cup

Dry Red chilli- 3 nos

Tamarind – small marble sized ball

Curry leaves – 5 leaves

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Urad dhal – 1 tsp

Oil – 1 tbsp

Salt – to taste


1. Grind  the roasted peanuts, grated coconut, tamarind and dry red chilli together in a mixer grinder

2. Then for seasoning, smear some oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. Let the mustard seeds split

3. Then add the urad dhal and wait till it turns golden brown and add the curry leaves

4. Pour this seasoning to the ground mixture and add some salt to taste

5. Serve with idli / dosa.
